Who are the Mavericks?
The Mavericks has proudly represented Calgary and in the Rugby Canada Super League (RCSL) - Canada's Premiers rugby competition - for the past nine years.
The Mavericks are integral part of the development of rugby in Southern Alberta. The Calgary entry to the RCSL is focused on fielding representative Senior Men's' and Under 20 teams comprised almost exclusively of players who live and work in the Calgary region and have made the personal commitment to achieve the highest levels in Rugby.
The goal is to provide a player development team that would fit into Rugby Canada's long term athlete development model and to give players in Calgary and Southern Alberta a defined pathway to the NA4 program and ultimately onto Canadian representative teams.
The Mavericks are led by Head Coach Andy Pocock.
